Position Summary

The Cancer Registrar assumes responsibility for identifying, registering and following all hospital patients (inpatients and outpatients) with carcinoma in accordance with standards of the Commission on Cancer. Also assists in coordinating Tumor Board and Cancer Committee meetings. Works with other cancer program activities as identified.

Requirements

• Current accreditation or registration with AHIMA
• Registered Health Information Tech (RHIT) or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge and skills to perform the job
• Certified Tumor Registrar Certificate (CTR) preferred or eligible to take and pass the test within 1 year of hire
• Cancer Registry experience preferred as determined appropriate to fulfill the position
• Medical record background preferred
• Must have experience with medical data retrieval, good clerical and organizational skills
• Excellent computer skills required

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $58,510.00 - $84,219.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
