Job Summary & Responsibilities
Each day, our team at POET Nutrition markets and transports 20,000 tons of our high-quality products to our thousands of customers who are located all over the globe. As the Credit Analyst Intern, you will help with the success of these sales by validating credit information for our customers. This role will also assist in maintaining accurate account information, finding solutions for customers’ inquiries, and supporting POET Merchandisers to provide creative and safe solutions for credit needs within the guidelines of POET’s Credit Policy.
This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities include:

As the Credit Analyst Intern, you will help with the success of these sales by validating credit information for our customers. This role will also assist in maintaining accurate account information, finding solutions for customers’ inquiries, and supporting POET Merchandisers to provide creative and safe solutions for credit needs within the guidelines of POET’s Credit Policy.
This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities include:
- Assist in review and analysis of credit applications to make recommendations for establishing appropriate lines of credit.
- Assist in conducting financial analysis, including 3rd party report review (business credit reports, bank, and trade references).
- Utilize analytical skillset to identify credit risks (metrics like DSO, past due reporting, etc.).
- Remain up to date on risk levels in potential importing countries.
- Provide multiple credit/payment options to the commercial team based on the facts and circumstances of each transaction.
- Ensure professional relationships are established and maintained with both internal and external customers.
- Work closely with Merchandising and Transportation team members to respond to credit and collection concerns with existing and potential customers.

Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Junior or senior level student working towards a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business.
- Customer service mindset and a desire to find solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with a sense of urgency that drives results.
- Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new programs.
- High level of personal integrity
- Interpersonal skills – ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels within/outside the organization
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to embrace and promote change
- Innovative mindset and the ability to think objectively
