Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Training in medical terminology
- Certified Tumor Registrar
- Full-Time
- Days
- Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
- Role will be predominately on-site with the possibility of working remotely in a limited capacity.
- The coordinator ensures quality and timeliness of case finding, abstraction, and follow-up functions according to departmental procedures and regulatory cancer case reporting guidelines
- The coordinator is responsible for the education and training of staff and case abstraction to support timely submission,
- The role also assists with cancer program accreditation and monitoring of compliance to accreditation standards,
- Ensures accurate and timely data and/or reports requested by physicians
- Oversees the reporting of all appropriate cancer cases to state and federal agencies to ensure proper reporting as required
- Carefully reviews patient health records to record pertinent patient and tumor-related information as required by the state and federal regulations
- Acts as a resource for staff and others as needed
