Minimum Qualifications
- One year of DOT truck driving experience is preferred.
- Possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license, medical card and clean driving record.
- A CDL Class A (tractor-trailer) license, or CDL Class B with HazMat and tanker endorsements.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts which include days, nights, weekends and overtime.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with DOT regulations.
- Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow team members.
- Safely deliver fuel and oil to construction projects.
- Complete pre and post trip inspections on fuel truck.
- Maintain fuel log showing delivery locations, quantity, meter readings, and quantity dispensed.
- Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil and fuel and inspect for leaks and damage to fuel truck before operation.
- Maintain a clean fuel truck appearance by complying with Knife River’s operational policies, procedures and standards.
- Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
- Must be DOT compliant at all times.
- Must follow equipment shop rules, keep shop clean, swept, tools picked up, and spills cleaned up while working in shop.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work for long hours in all weather conditions.
- Expect to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in an environment that periodically exposes you to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.
- Must be able to work in an environment that involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.
- Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
