Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience working with technical teams on data center or mission-critical facility construction projects.
  • 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical systems, mechanical systems, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, or networking/fiber.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • 2 years of experience with mission-critical equipment/environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
  • Experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of facility electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design-build processes.
  • Ability to gather requirements, organize resources, prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and achieve objectives within defined goals.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

In this role, you will lead the design, construction, and delivery of data center in the region of North America. Your role requires strong project management, communication skills and experience on construction projects within a dynamic environment. You will be at the forefront of Data Center Innovation and will contribute directly to the infrastructure that powers Google's products and services, used by billions of people worldwide. You will also work alongside experienced engineers, construction managers, and technical specialists in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will develop and implement creative solutions that address the unique issues of building and operating hyper-scale data centers. You will contribute to the construction and operation of critical data center facilities and will gain valuable experience in a high-growth area with opportunities for professional development and advancement within Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple data center projects from inception to completion, overseeing all phases, including concept development, design, construction, and deployment.
  • Gather and analyze internal requirements, translating them into effective solutions that meet the needs of our data center operations teams
  • Work effectively within a organization, collaborating with cross-functional partners, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex construction issues, developing creative solutions that minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
