This key role is responsible for building a culture of accountability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting both union and non-union teams through safety best practices and training. Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety Policy
- Develop and implement OSHA-compliant safety policies.
- Monitor and update safety protocols based on changing regulations.
- Prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and insurance reviews.
- Field Safety Oversight
- Conduct on-site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, safe equipment handling, and policy compliance.
- Lead incident investigations and document corrective actions.
- Union & Non-Union Workforce Support
- Enforce safety compliance in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Coordinate with union reps and supervisors to resolve field safety concerns.
- Understand and manage union-specific training and documentation requirements.
- Training & Employee Development
- Deliver safety orientation for new hires and ongoing training for crews.
- Track and maintain all certifications (fall protection, hot work, LOTO, etc.).
- Program & Risk Management
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs, incident records, and KPI reports.
- Lead safety initiatives including Safety Week and toolbox talks.
- Assist in risk assessments and return-to-work programs.
- Administrative & Travel Duties
- Travel to jobsites and company facilities regularly.
- Perform additional safety-related duties as required.
- 10 years of safety management experience in construction or fire protection.
- Proven experience working with union labor required.
- OSHA 500 certification (or equivalent safety credentials) required.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High attention to detail and documentation.
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel regularly to multi-state project sites.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
