Job Summary:

The Senior Sales Director will serve as the strategic and operational leader of the national sales organization, overseeing a cross-functional team including the Director of Sales and National Sales Managers for Retail and Hospitality. This role is responsible for sales strategy, execution, and profitable growth across all channels and partners, focusing on revenue performance, profitability, forecasting, brand expansion, and customer acquisition.

In addition to leading the sales function, this role also assumes executive oversight of customer engagement, strategic account planning, margin management, and promotional execution. The Senior Sales Director ensures that Hestan’s brand and products are positioned for success across all platforms—brick-and-mortar, digital, and commercial—by aligning internal cross-functional teams and developing tailored go-to-market strategies for each channel.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales Leadership

● Lead national sales efforts, overseeing direct reports including the Director of Sales, National Sales Managers - Retail and Hospitality.

● Set the overall sales vision and lead the execution of strategic plans to achieve aggressive revenue and margin goals across all channels.

● Guide the development of retailer- and channel-specific programs that elevate the Hestan brand and drive year-over-year growth.

 

Sales Execution & Account Oversight

● Support account strategy and performance through in-depth collaboration with national accounts, independent sales reps, and internal teams.

● Oversee promotional planning, pricing strategy, and customer-specific initiatives to maximize profitability and sell-through.

● Conduct and support regular in-person and virtual business reviews with key partners to align on growth plans and promotional calendars.

● Lead preparation and delivery of strategic sales presentations and proposals to national retailers, distributors, and hospitality partners.

 

Forecasting & Inventory Alignment

● Ensure accurate forecasting by SKU and channel; collaborate with Planning and Supply Chain to maintain optimal inventory levels.

● Monitor and analyze performance against sales plans and adjust as needed to meet financial targets and customer demand.

 

Brand & Channel Development

● Customer P&L responsibility for the Hestan Culinary brand; align product, pricing, and promotional strategies with long-term brand goals.

● Identify and secure additional distribution opportunities in new and existing channels.

● Collaborate with Product Development and Business Development to introduce innovative product offerings that align with customer and market needs.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

● Serve as the sales liaison to Marketing, Merchandising, Product Development, and Operations, ensuring coordinated execution of launches, campaigns, and promotions.

● Work with the Marketing and Merchandising teams on merchandising strategies, digital representation, and retailer marketing initiatives.

● Participate in internal Open-To-Buy (OTB) meetings and post-launch performance reviews.

 

Team Leadership & Development

● Hire, train, develop, and motivate a high-performing sales team.

● Conduct performance evaluations, develop KPIs, and create incentive programs aligned with company goals.

● Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer focus across the sales organization.

 

Performance Reporting & Communication

● Deliver clear and concise reporting to the President/CEO on revenue performance, margin achievement, and key trends.

● Lead and contribute to national sales meetings and planning sessions.

● Ensure all internal stakeholders are aligned through transparent communication and data-driven insights.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

● 10+ years of progressive leadership in national sales, preferably in housewares, consumer goods, or culinary products.

● Proven experience in managing sales teams, national accounts, and complex P&Ls.

● Strong knowledge of the retail and hospitality landscapes, e-commerce platforms, and promotional dynamics.

● Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and ERP/CRM systems (e.g., NetSuite, Apprise).

● Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

 

Working Conditions:

● Hybrid role with regular travel to customer sites, trade shows, and corporate offices.

● Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. for sample or display purposes.

● Flexible hours as needed to support partner schedules and industry events.

 

$160,000 to $190,000, DOE
