Senior Reporting Analyst

This position requires a weekly onsite presence (~2-3 days/week) in our Fairfield, CA office.
The Senior Reporting Analyst is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and presenting complex financial reports to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role requires advanced analytical skills, deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
Essential Functions
- Performs general accounting functions such as classifying and analyzing information, preparing journal entries, and reconciling data and accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and other reports. Analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and develop complex financial models to support strategic decision-making while ensuring GAAP compliance.
- Prepare technical accounting memos.
- Keep informed of changes to relevant accounting principles and regulatory requirements, which ultimately impact financial data.
- Provide input and propose suggestions on complex accounting and financial reporting matters.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Support budget planning, forecasting processes, and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Recommend enhancements to areas of responsibility that would improve or facilitate job performance, workflow, and internal control, including changes and enhancements to related technology.
- Provide high-level service to internal and external customers ensuring their accounting needs are met in a timely manner.
- Provide and explain financial analysis and data to auditors and other outside organizations.
- Assigned responsibility for several components of larger, more complex projects, and assist with implementation, which may involve working with other departments and external parties.
- Provide work direction and training to other team members or as project lead on special assignments.
- May perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements
Education, training, and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- CPA or MBA highly desirable.
- 5+ years professional accounting experience.
- Strong background in GAAP financial reporting.
- Public accounting and/or property casualty insurance experience highly desirable.
- Purchase accounting experience highly desirable.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Requires advanced accounting theory and practice knowledge to independently perform accounting functions.
- Strong quantitative, problem-solving skills, communication, and organizational skills.
- Advanced PC skills using a variety of software, including but not limited to Excel (Vlookup, Pivot Tables, etc.), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, general ledger, and various financial reporting software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
- Ability to take ownership, handle multiple tasks with accuracy, working independently to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.

California Residents:
The base pay range for this role at the time of posting is estimated to be Min: $86,010 - Max: $143,350. We target the midpoint of the range; however, all compensation offers will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
