The UnitedMasters team is made up of musicians, marketers, engineers, and storytellers with backgrounds from YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora, Facebook, Uber, Dropbox, Complex, VICE, and more. We work hand in hand with the award-winning creative teams that forge those innovative partnerships at Translation (our in-house creative advertising agency).
We are looking for a Motion Designer (Temp-to-Perm) to join UnitedMasters! Please note that this role is a Hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote.
What You'll Do
- Design and animate creative assets across channels with an emphasis on social
- Support the development of content series, visual systems, and branded storytelling
- Work with the Art Director and Creative Director to help execute on brand and campaign concepts
- Collaborate with copywriters, art directors, producers, and social team to create cohesive, scroll-stopping content
- Maintain and extend our visual identity across static and motion design
- Assist in creating presentations and pitch decks when needed
- Contribute to content shoots, artist interviews, and campaign planning with mood boards, storyboards, and visual references
- Stay up to date with design trends, cultural moments, and visual storytelling best practices
- A strong visual thinker and skilled designer who can work across both static and motion
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of layout, typography, and visual rhythm
- Culturally tuned-in — you understand the creative nuance of music, tech, and internet culture
- A natural problem-solver who can take feedback and iterate quickly
- Able to manage multiple projects and communicate timelines clearly
- Passionate about music, creativity, and supporting independent artists
- 2+ years of experience as a designer or motion designer (agency, brand, or in-house)
- Strong portfolio showcasing both static and motion work (please include a link)
- Proficiency in adobe creative suite, figma, g-suite tools
- Understanding of major social platform and content formats
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Background in music, entertainment, or tech
- Experience working with creative teams in startup or brand environments
- Understanding of product design or creative collaboration with product teams
- Interest in cultural storytelling and branded content development

Salary Hiring Range: $31.25/hr - $33.50/hr
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)
Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. The salary range above is for the NY/CA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
