As part of our growing Modeling and Simulation Division, we are seeking a highly motivated consultant to join our engineering team and gain hands-on experience with real-world simulation projects.

Role Overview

As a Modeling and Simulation Engineering Intern, you will work closely with senior engineers and data scientists to design, develop, test, and validate simulation models. You will contribute to projects involving digital twins, AI-driven predictive modeling, scenario analysis, and system-level simulations to help stakeholders explore complex problems and make informed decisions.

This role offers exposure to a variety of disciplines, including systems engineering, data analytics, AI/ML integration, and simulation-based policy design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development & Design
    • Assist in building simulation models using tools such as Vensim.
    • Support the development of system dynamics models.
    • Integrate real-world datasets into simulations to improve accuracy and relevance.
  • Scenario Analysis & Testing
    • Run “what-if” simulations to evaluate system performance under different assumptions.
    • Analyze simulation outputs to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Data Integration & Visualization
    • Work with engineering and data science teams to integrate heterogeneous datasets into simulation pipelines.
    • Create interactive dashboards and visualizations for stakeholders using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Python (Matplotlib, Plotly).
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Prepare technical reports, simulation specifications, and user guides.
    • Present findings to cross-functional teams, senior engineers, and stakeholders.
Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
    • Systems Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
    • Applied Mathematics
    • Data Science
    • Or a related technical field
Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, AnyLogic, Arena, Vensim).
  • Basic proficiency in Python, R, C++, or Java for model development and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI integration into simulation models is a plus.
  • Understanding of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Python libraries).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for innovation.

Preferred Experience (Nice To Have)

  • Prior exposure to digital twin technology.
  • Experience with cloud-based simulation environments (AWS, Azure, or IBM Watsonx).
  • Familiarity with simulation-based decision-making in fields like healthcare, transportation, or policy.
