POSITION SUMMARY

As the Funding Specialist, you will be responsible for funding various types of loans with urgency being a top priority. The Funding Specialist must also demonstrate a thorough knowledge of bank policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with the Relationship Manager, Relationship Manager Assistant and Centralized Loan Documentation to ensure accurate and timely funding of various loan requests. As a representative of the Bank, you are required to present a positive and professional image at all times.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Flexibility to work before or after normal business hours as necessary to meet deadlines and the needs of the bank required
  • Experience with various loan documents preferred
  • Two years of experience in Loan Operations preferred

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Relationship Manager, Relationship Manager Assistant and Centralized Loan Documentation to ensure accurate and timely funding of various loan requests
  • Track incoming loan packages by maintaining loan spreadsheet
  • Balance settlement statement with information provided on funding instructions including wire transfer, issuing official checks, depositing loan proceeds and crediting general ledger accounts
  • Verify funding request is executed as scheduled and recorded per procedures
  • Ensure all fees are properly and fully collected
  • Notify loan boarding specialists that loan is ready for uploading
  • Investigate and clear outages on the loan settlement general ledger report
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all documentation associated with consumer, commercial, and real estate loans
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all Bank of Tennessee procedures, regulations, internal policies and all lending regulations
  • Maintain procedures for all primary duties to ensure they are current and accurate
  • Provide backup support for Collateral Specialist
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations, accountability, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements

  • Complete other duties as assigned as determined by management to be reasonable and beneficial

Physical Requirements

This position largely operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with Bank management, and employees. Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential. Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time is common. Must be able to accurately gather and process verbal and written information and properly prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity is needed for the frequent use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers and telephones.
