The full hiring range for this role is $72,700 - $99,990, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate, as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.

The individual in this role will have the opportunity to develop, analyze, and implement innovative rating programs and product enhancements to achieve company profitability objectives, as directed.
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Researches and monitors competitor products and prices and recommends innovative pricing and product enhancements.
- Provides technical input for corporate projects.
- Analyzes the financial impact of new state regulations on pricing and profitability as appropriate.
- Builds the technical knowledge needed in rate and coverage analysis of assigned lines of business.
- Assists in the development, submission, and management of rate and rule filings.
- Assists in reviews and analysis of data to develop rates, rating plans, and pricing, including forecasting profitability levels and overall performance for multiple products in all states.
- Applies actuarial tools for product pricing. Analyzes existing policy data to identify trends and relationships and reports results and recommendations to management.
- Recommends rate changes / refinements as appropriate.
- Demonstrates sound decision-making based on clear instructions and standardized procedures, requiring minimal interpretation.
- Uses defined resources to find acceptable solutions.
- Aptitude for understanding the relationships between problem components.
- Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards, including responding quickly, maintaining a positive attitude, building rapport, demonstrating empathy, managing the customer’s expectations, using the proper communication channel for the situation, and taking ownership to ensure the customer’s issue is resolved.
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?
- Basic understanding of insurance products.
- Basic understanding of actuarial principles used in pricing analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective part of a team.
- Ability to use good judgment and find innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Bachelor’s degree required, related degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics preferred.
- Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages.
- Experience with advanced Microsoft Excel techniques.
- Prior property-and-casualty insurance experience.
- One to three Casualty Actuary Society (CAS) exams passed.
