The Opportunity

As an Investment Product Consultant you will play a pivotal role in supporting advisors by providing in-depth product education and analytical expertise related to a range of third-party investment products including but not limited to mutual funds, ETFs, UITs, 529s, closed-end funds, stocks, and bonds. In this dynamic and fast-paced role, you will help advisors enhance their client portfolios with innovative investment solutions while working alongside a collaborative, forward-thinking team. You will be updating systems for product offerings and working with internal teams to grow our product shelf. The Team

The Investment Product team’s mission is to empower advisor practices, agencies, and MassMutual to excel in the investment advisory and brokerage space by offering open architecture solutions and expertise. We are dedicated to helping clients achieve their financial goals to grow and transition their wealth through informed investing.

The Impact

As an Investment Product Consultant, you will support the Investment Product team with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including fund sponsors, the internal new business team/operations, the platform team, the WMIT team and financial advisors on a comprehensive range of offerings. You will assist in monitoring and answering the Product team mailbox as well.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Accountable for being subject matter expert on certain security types and assisting advisors with education and ad hoc implementation questions
  • Respond to compensation questions from the Field related to product additions or restrictions
  • Spreadsheet monitoring in DTCC regarding cusip type. Understand and effectively communicate MMLIS’ investment capabilities pertaining to both brokerage and advisory
  • Actively monitor the mutual fund share classes on platform and assist in any share class conversion projects
  • Partners with internal Business Development teams to develop training courses and educate the field on available offerings
  • Monitor the add logs, close logs, merger logs of mutual funds, Vas, VLs, CITs, Alts
  • Assist in maintenance and responding to Products Operations In-box
  • Monitor Null report – for anything that hits the product UI in BRAC
  • Leverage technology to drive process efficiencies and improve team workflows
  • Complete all Investment Product billing and reporting requirements
  • Assist in maintaining policies and procedures and internal communications.
  • Support senior team members projects and initiatives; collaborate with operations, legal, compliance, and other internal teams to roll out new products
  • Occasional travel may be required

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Series 7 at time of application or must obtain within 180 days
  • 2+ years of experience with investments in the financial services industry and/or within financial institutions (banks, credit unions, wires, broker dealers
  • 3+ years of proven experience working with Microsoft Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Strategic mindset with the capability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment.
