Position Summary
Become a key contributor in ensuring precision and compliance at the highest level. As a Quality Inspector III, reporting directly to the Manager of Quality Control, you will perform dimensional inspections using advanced tools and techniques to verify that our products meet rigorous contractual and engineering standards. This role offers hands-on experience with state-of-the-art Computer-Aided Inspection (CAI) equipment at the operator level, while supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs through close collaboration with engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

This role offers hands-on experience with state-of-the-art Computer-Aided Inspection (CAI) equipment at the operator level, while supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs through close collaboration with engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform independent inspections, validations, and verifications of hardware to ensure compliance with drawings and contractual requirements.
- Perform intermediate-level inspections utilizing surface plate techniques and computer-aided inspection (CAI) equipment USING CMM machine and PC-DIMIS software at the operator level.
- Perform intermediate-level inspections utilizing different CAI equipment like different FARO/Romer arms, laser trackers, and video dimensioning systems - at the operator level.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles including Angularity, Profile, Runout, Symmetry, and True Position.
- Calculate true positions using basic algebra and trigonometry.
- Interpret and communicate inspection results to engineers, customers, and management.
- Utilize inspection programs and 3D models for CAI equipment as needed.
- Perform casting and forging layouts when required.
- Mentor and oversee junior inspectors.
- Support source inspections and travel as needed for quality assurance activities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a dimensional inspector.
- Minimum 3 years of direct, hands-on experience operating surface plates and Computer-Aided Inspection (CAI) equipment such as CMMs (e.g., PC-DMIS) at the operator level.
- Strong proficiency in GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings/specifications.
- Ability to perform basic algebra and trigonometry for inspection calculations.
- Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Comfortable working in diverse team environments.
- Able to lift up to 35lbs.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- College degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Certifications in GD&T, Quality Inspection, or relevant ASQ areas.
- Experience interpreting and using CAI programs and 3D models.
- Familiarity with advanced CAI systems such as Laser Trackers or Video Dimensioning tools.
- Experience performing casting and forging layouts
- Experience conducting source inspections
- Prior experience mentoring or training junior inspectors
- Medium-to-large inspection laboratory/machine shop environment
- Fast paced environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM PST
