Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing payables, communications with vendors and organizing incoming information.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely processing of bills for the company into the system including management of company portal accounts.
  • Record vendor payments and communications of remittances.
  • Reconcile and follow up on vendor statements as needed.
  • Support vendor account maintenance including required documentation and certificates of insurance requirements.
  • Direct communication and relationship maintenance with vendors and support as needed.
  • Support the month end close process and end of year audit process.
  • Assist with the management of open order management with other departments.
  • Responsible for closure on vendor returns processing and open credit utilization.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
  • Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred.
  • At least two years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
