Responsibilities
The Maintenance Supervisor will be reportable to the Maintenance Manager and have responsibilities for the following tasks:
- Completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, conveying system, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and listening for problems using testing instruments
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level
- Monitoring/evaluating the tasks and projects of maintenance employees
- Perform training and coaching as needed for maintenance employees
- Document and report daily maintenance plant activities
- Accountable for ensuring that scheduled projects and tasks are executed in a timely manner and within all safety parameters
- Work with operation personnel to maintain, modify or repair instrumentation and control equipment. Work with safety to ensure the safety procedures are being followed
- “Fill in” as needed for Maintenance Manager
- Daily support of the Manufacturing team in resolving high level infrastructure problems and documenting from discovery to sustainment of countermeasures
- Continuous improvement focused to deliver the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives of the plant through research, innovation, training, standardization and sustainment
- Responsible for clearly communicating the needs of the Plant to internal customers/suppliers to ensure operating expectations are aligned across the operations team. For example, communicating to the Management Team, plant manager, maintenance manager, team leaders, maintenance, logistics, and technical team
- 3+ years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Plastics, recycling or extrusion experience a plus
- PLC experience in a major platform a plus
- Proven Troubleshooting Skills
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in Spanish a plus
- Must be a good problem solver, a good listener, analytical and hands on
- Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must have experience leading projects and teams
- Must be willing to addend classes for development in Six Sigma, Controls, and Reliability during normal business and off-business hours
