Job Description
The Functional Analyst will support a federal program by analyzing business requirements, documenting processes, and assisting in the alignment of system functionality with mission objectives. This role requires the ability to gather input from stakeholders, communicate technical and functional requirements, and support solution implementation in accordance with contract deliverables. The analyst will ensure that operational needs are met while maintaining compliance with federal standards and program goals.

Job Description
The Functional Analyst will support a federal program by analyzing business requirements, documenting processes, and assisting in the alignment of system functionality with mission objectives. This role requires the ability to gather input from stakeholders, communicate technical and functional requirements, and support solution implementation in accordance with contract deliverables. The analyst will ensure that operational needs are met while maintaining compliance with federal standards and program goals.
What You Will Do
- Analyzes user needs to determine functional and cross-functional requirements.
- Performs functional allocation to identify required tasks, dependencies, and interrelationships.
- Identifies resources required for each task and assists in planning and prioritization efforts.
- Supports the development of functional specifications, business rules, and process flows.
- Collaborates with system architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure functional requirements are accurately captured and implemented.
- Participates in requirements-gathering sessions, workshops, and validation activities with stakeholders.
- Documents functional requirements and maintains traceability throughout the system lifecycle.
- Provides recommendations for process improvements and efficiency based on functional analysis.
- Ensures compliance with federal standards, policies, and frameworks in all functional requirements and documentation.
- Supports testing and validation efforts by ensuring functional requirements align with test plans and acceptance criteria.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a functional analyst, business analyst, or in a related discipline, with demonstrated support for federal programs.
- Strong understanding of functional requirements analysis, allocation, and resource identification.
- Experience developing functional specifications, process flows, and traceability matrices.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools and methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Knowledge of federal governance, compliance, and documentation standards.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to translate stakeholder needs into actionable requirements and ensure alignment across technical and functional teams.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and adoption of industry best practices in functional and requirements analysis.
