The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”) is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By “Pursuing Justice with Integrity,” the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover, the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice. In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks experienced and enthusiastic Administrative Supervisor of the Early Case Assessment Bureau (“ECAB”).
The ECAB is comprised of three units. The Complaint Room, the Desk Appearance Ticker Unit (hereinafter, “DAT”) and Arraignments. The ECAB is seeking an administrative coordinator of the Complaint Room who will be responsible for overseeing the Complaint Room Staff.

The ECAB is comprised of three units. The Complaint Room, the Desk Appearance Ticker Unit (hereinafter, “DAT”) and Arraignments. The ECAB is seeking an administrative coordinator of the Complaint Room who will be responsible for overseeing the Complaint Room Staff.
Job Responsibilities
Specific duties include but not limited to:
- ECAB Administrative Supervisor is responsible for professional staff assigned to ECAB which operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
- Must ensure adequate staffing during all shifts to effectively complete unit duties.
- Must be knowledgeable in District Attorney’s policies and ECAB policies and procedures implemented by the Bureau and Deputy Chief.
- Evaluate staff performance as well as carry out disciplinary procedures for violations of office and unit policies and procedures.
- Serve as a Liaison Between NYPD BLAP unit and BXDA’s ECAB.
- Serve as a liaison between Court Arraignment Clerks and BXDA’s ECAB.
- Must be familiar with Police Department arrest paperwork received from the NYPD BLAP unit and ensure that paperwork is reviewed and processed in a timely fashion.
- Train professional staff on all aspects of ECAB, including policies, procedures, screening in of cases, and expediting of cases.
- Must be able to assist ADAs with the complaint folder tracking system and docketing request forms.
- Troubleshoot problems and issues that may arise in ECAB and be able to reach out to appropriate parties for resolution.
- Assist with other unit tasks and perform all other duties as assigned.
- Note: Due to the necessary service needs of this position, the incumbent will be required to work nights, holidays, and weekends. Various shifts will apply.
Preferred Skills
- A minimum of one (1) year of legal work experience preferred.
- Familiarity with general court procedures, services, and functions.
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate and interact with supervisors, colleagues, law enforcement, civilians, District Attorneys, and court personnel, as well as other agencies.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Engage in witness contact and communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, One Drive, Adobe Pro and knowledge the New York Penal Law.
- Ability to take the initiative to implement systems that ensure work is done both accurately and efficiently.
COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058
Minimum Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
