Description

Position Title: Physician Assistant PRN

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

Overview

We are a well-established clinic seeking a Physician Assistant who is comfortable working in a fast-paced occupational medicine environment. Our clinic specializes in acute care and work-related injuries. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, efficient in patient care delivery, and confident in providing comprehensive occupational and urgent care services.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment.
  • Conduct pre-employment physicals, worker’s compensation injury evaluations, and urgent care visits.
  • Treat injuries and illnesses following Evidence-Based Medicine standards.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-ray, EKG, laboratory).
  • Perform minor outpatient procedures (wound closure, incision & drainage, foreign body removal).
  • Educate and counsel patients on treatment plans, compliance, and follow-up care.
  • Communicate patient needs and care plans to patients, employers, and clinical staff.
  • Review and manage daily tasks such as patient callbacks and lab results while on shift.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Medical Director to maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with medical best practices.

Requirements

  • Board Certification required.
  • Valid, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of California (must be maintained).
  • Current DEA and BLS certifications.
  • Active controlled substance license and unrestricted DEA registration.
  • Positive, outgoing personality with strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Occupational Medicine experience preferred; training available with Medical Director if needed.
  • At least 1 year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred (not required).

Additional Information
