Role Description
We are seeking a Quality System Manager to join our team in Elkhart, IN. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with sales, project engineering, production, and the leadership teams to maintain ISO 9001 compliance, lead internal audits, and champion quality across all levels of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, including documentation and internal audit preparation.
- Identify and document nonconformities, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and quality documentation in QA systems.
- Monitor supplier quality and analyze quality trends to drive corrective measures.
- Maintain and calibrate measuring tools, inspection equipment, and quality databases.
- Develop and lead internal audits programs, including coordinating and developing internal auditors.
- Lead management review meetings to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Communicate with others as required and necessary to perform job duties.
- Work independently and take ownership of assigned quality processes.
- Conduct cost analyses as part of quality improvement or corrective action planning.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report unsafe activities.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Lead by example through sharing knowledge, and proactively seek out and recommend new technologies, tools, or processes to improve quality operations.
- Research innovative technologies by attending seminars, reading trade articles, or taking classes, and implement or recommend them.
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or related technical discipline; or
- Four years of experience and/or specialized training; or
- Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in Quality in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong skills in work planning and scheduling.
- Excellent communication skills are a must!
