Qualifications:
Can safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must have a current RN license in good standing.
- Ability to understand, remember and carry out oral or written instructions in English.
- Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to be flexible and positive with intermittent interruptions.
- Prior experience in long-term care/skilled nursing preferred.
- Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising nursing services under the direction of the DON.
- Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice within the facility.
- Participate in the On-Call rotation.
- Assesses the quality of care rendered.
- Responsible for staff performance.
- Responsible for collaborating with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development.
- Must possess the ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze information and make recommendations to the physician as it relates to the health of the resident.
- Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the facility.
- Participates in appropriate meetings and committees.
- Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members, and guests.
- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
- Use appropriate workplace behavior and always adhere to the dress code.
- Must clear the criminal background check, be in good standing with the Texas Misconduct Registry, and must not appear on the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines of nursing facility administration.
- Must have basic computer skills or the ability to learn.
