Job Overview – Program Director (Social Services):
Compensation: $38/hour
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Take on a leadership role as a Program Director (Social Services) with our client in Queens, NY, managing a multidisciplinary team supporting older adults through community-based programs. In this role, you'll oversee contract compliance, staff supervision, client care coordination, and community outreach on elder abuse prevention. Ideal for experienced MSWs or human services professionals with knowledge of NYC Aging standards and clinical program operations.
Responsibilities as the Program Director (Social Services):
- Team Supervision: Oversee Social Workers, Case Assistants, and interns through individual and group supervision to support clinical quality and team development.
- Case & Program Oversight: Manage eligibility screenings, triage emergency cases, and assign follow-ups to ensure timely client support.
- Compliance & Deliverables: Ensure all contract requirements meet NYC Aging and organizational standards, tracking outcomes and documentation.
- Community Outreach: Lead presentations on elder abuse, participate in outreach events, and strengthen ties with local partners.
- Clinical Guidance: Apply knowledge of counseling methods (e.g., motivational interviewing) to guide staff and support interventions.
- Organizational Support: Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior or Associate Director.
Qualifications for the Program Director (Social Services):
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field such as Gerontology, Psychology, or Human Services required.
- Experience: Experience in clinical supervision, case management, and counseling with older adults required, with knowledge of Motivational Interviewing preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and program-specific software for data entry and compliance tracking.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communicator, culturally competent, team-oriented, and dedicated to supporting diverse, vulnerable older adults with empathy and respect.
