Job Summary
Under limited supervision of the Supervisor, the Sr. Claims Adjuster performs the essential functions of the position, which includes but is not limited to:
Duties And Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve automobile claims in a timely and efficient manner;
- Document investigations, evaluations, recommendations, and plans of action;
- Ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within company standards, industry best practices and all state and federal regulations;
- Produce grammatically correct and clearly written correspondence including letters, memos, reports and claim file documentation;
- Exhibit exceptional customer service? Maintain positive customer relationships, and exhibit a courteous and professional demeanor
- Maintain a reliable system of keeping files current and be caught up on claim tasks and diaries.
- Be able to handle any and all types of automobile insurance claims regardless of the level of complexity, severity of injuries, or number of features.
- Evaluate and settle a wide level of injury claims including soft tissue injuries, serious injuries involving hospitalization, fatalities, etc.
- Effectively manage litigated files throughout the entire litigation process.
- Exhibit a high degree of decision making and require minimal supervision with regards to liability decisions and injury evaluations.
- Act as a mentor for adjusters with less experience and assist in the training and development of claims staff.
- Maintain a high level of productivity.
- Respond to timely to customers’ inquiries and to requests by management.
- Minimize customer complaint calls.
- Regular and predictable punctuality and attendance;
- Comply with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, insurance carrier criteria and follow Aspire General Insurance Company/partner’s policies, procedure and work rules;
- Other duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Three plus years’ experience in Property and Casualty insurance industry;
- Must have a clear understanding of insurance industry practices, standards and terminology;
- Experience handling both auto property damage and injury claims;
- Must be able to pass a background check;
- Must have a disciplined approach to all job-related activities;
- Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision making and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills;
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously;
- Ability to achieve targeted performance goals.
- Ability to develop excellent working relationships with staff, clients, Partners and outside agencies;
- Ability to communicate with others in an effective and friendly manner, one that is conducive to being a conscientious team member, fostering a spirit of good will, indicative of a professional environment and atmosphere;
- Ability to be a team player and work cohesively with other Company Partners and Companies staff to achieve company goals;
- Able to represent the company in a professional manner and contribute to the corporate image;
- Able to consistently provide excellent client service.
- This is a non-exempt position which complies with alternative work schedule when applicable;
- This position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management;
- The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment;
- Travel may be required;
- This work environment is fast-paced and accuracy is essential to successful task completion;
- Requires extended periods of computer use and sitting
