Description
The Hatcher Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Video Associate to support our multimedia production team. In this role, you’ll assist in the production and editing workflow for a diverse range of projects, including short-form social content and long-form documentary productions. Working with our team, you’ll have the opportunity to create innovations to address the social challenges of our time, contributing to award-winning campaigns for nonprofits, government agencies, and other organizations that share Hatcher’s vision of a more just and sustainable future.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in video editing skills and experience in post-production. You are a strong, detail-oriented editor who can also contribute administratively to ensure seamless integration into the team. Preferably, you also have field experience that includes videography, audio, and grip support (lighting and setup). You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and are excited to contribute fresh ideas and solutions to meet our clients’ goals.

What You’ll Do
- Assist lead editors in curating selects, assembling string outs, and creating preliminary edits
- Perform basic video edits for internal content, including social media packages
- Sync footage and audio, label clips, and prepare timelines for senior editors
- Ingest, organize, and manage raw footage and project assets
- Maintain an efficient and structured file management system, ensuring proper backups
- Track version control and manage edit notes throughout the production cycle
- Provide on-set grip support for video shoots as needed
- Preference for hands-on videography skills – please highlight any video shooting experience and include in your reel
What You’ll Bring
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder (experience with After Effects is a plus)
- Fundamental knowledge of video formats, codecs, and export settings
- Familiarity with Canon cameras and associated file types
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related field—or equivalent experience
