Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and safety-oriented Bus Driver to join our team at Casper Mountain Rehab. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring residents are transported to and from medical appointments, safely and comfortably. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to resident care, and the ability to advocate for residents during appointments as needed. CNA certification is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate facility transportation vehicles (bus or van) to transport residents to and from off-site appointments, including medical, dental, or other scheduled outings.
  • Assist residents in and out of vehicles, ensuring proper use of safety restraints, lifts, and mobility aids as needed.
  • Provide supportive companionship to residents during their appointments, remaining with them throughout the visit and acting as an advocate on their behalf when appropriate.
  • Coordinate and assist with scheduling appointments in collaboration with the nursing and administrative teams.
  • Pick up new admissions from hospitals or other care settings and assist with their safe arrival and intake at the facility.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic safety checks (e.g., gas, tires, wheelchair lifts).
  • Complete and maintain transportation logs and documentation as required by facility policies and state regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and facility staff regarding resident needs or appointment outcomes.
  • Uphold all infection control and safety protocols during transport and appointments.


Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
  • CNA certification (preferred but not required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience driving professionally, preferably in a healthcare or senior care setting.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and transfer safely and respectfully.
  • Strong communication, patience, and a resident-centered approach.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening as required by facility and state regulations.


Work Environment:

This role involves driving, assisting residents with transfers and mobility aids, and attending appointments in clinical or public settings. The driver will regularly interact with residents who may have cognitive or physical limitations, requiring patience and empathy.

Schedule:

Primarily day shifts with flexibility based on resident appointments and transportation needs.

Potential 40 Hours or more a week AND ON CALL
