The Distribution Specialist assists with the daily operating procedures of Distribution Services. Some job duties are receipt and delivery of all campus mail and freight, event set-up’s, surplus pick-ups, auction set-ups, campus shredding, furniture moves and contract postal unit support.

The Distribution Specialist assists with the daily operating procedures of Distribution Services. Some job duties are receipt and delivery of all campus mail and freight, event set-up’s, surplus pick-ups, auction set-ups, campus shredding, furniture moves and contract postal unit support.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with the scheduling and fulfilling of freight deliveries, internal moves, event set-ups, deliveries, and disposal/re-purposing of surplus items.
- Assist with surplus pick-ups, work orders, deliveries and disposal/re-purposing of surplus items and surplus auctions.
- Handle incoming freight deliveries for Distribution Services.
- Research shipping and receiving information and accurately enter data into the internal tracking system.
- Assist with the document destruction and hard drive shredding process, scheduling, storage, and transfer of material to the vendor.
- Maintain and establish effective relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
- Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures for proper handling of incoming assets, accurate documentation of information for UT-Share input .
- Provides support for Mail Services and the UC Post Office in processing mail according to USPS standards with accuracy in all phases of the process.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- High School graduation or experience equivalent with two (2) years of warehouse experience.
- One (1) year of forklift experience.
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs on a consistent basis.
- People management experience, including solid competencies in talent identification and development, coaching and mentoring.
- Analytical skills and knowledge necessary to identify opportunities and make recommendations for improvements based on a solid understanding of the business and competitive landscape and market trends.
- A solid work ethic with a results-oriented philosophy and excellent judgment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Very detailed oriented.
- Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
