Sunflower Bank, NA is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Compliance Analyst I at our Gilbert, AZ location.

The Compliance Analyst I supports the bank with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Compliance Management Testing Program as directed by Compliance Management. Responsibilities include creating, executing, assessing, and reporting on the overall Compliance Program within the Bank. This includes but is not limited to compliance assessments with a focus on rules and regulations, policies and procedures, product reviews, monitoring and business control activities, corrective actions, and complaint management as well as the tracking and reporting of such activities.

Other responsibilities include providing support to the Compliance Department during audits, examinations, and other engagements by participating in audit, compliance and regulatory exam preparation and response activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive Test Plans to assess adherence to internal policy and external Laws, Rules, and Regulations.
  • Develop and execute monitoring reviews and tests of controls to evaluate the compliance of the key controls in accord with the testing methodology.
  • Assist in addressing consumer complaints, remediating regulatory and non-regulatory issues, and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Assist in supporting issues management processes including timely and accurate updates, tracking, and assisting with management reporting.
  • Assist with the coordination of the collection of materials including the tracking and reporting of issues related to regulatory exams and internal audits.
  • Assist in reviews of forms, standardized documents, and marketing material.
  • Assist in the preparation of Compliance related management reports.
  • Assist in the development of and review Bank compliance within new and existing policies and procedures.
  • Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the Company.
  • Complete assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of regulatory banking compliance, consulting, or audit experience.
  • Working knowledge of applicable banking laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand laws and regulations in order to assist in test development and to provide recommendations and solutions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience required.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office desktop applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under and meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work solo or as part of a small team with individual time sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to identify and communicate solutions to complex, time-critical, or recurring issues.
  • Ability to make decisions that have significant impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
  • Minimal travel expected.
