About The Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Director of Quality oversees the company’s entire quality management system, ensuring products meet regulatory standards (like cGMP, FDA, ISO 22716) and customer expectations. Responsibilities include developing quality strategies, managing QA/QC teams, spearheading continuous improvement initiatives using methods like Six Sigma, leading audit preparations, and fostering a strong quality culture. The role requires expertise in product development, risk management, process standardization, and team leadership to maintain product integrity and ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the personal care/cosmetics manufacturing industry with specific experience in OTC (Over-The-Counter) products and hot pour manufacturing.

What You'll Do

  • Quality System Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust quality management system (QMS) compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to FDA, cGMP, ISO 9001, ISO 22716, and other relevant global and domestic regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and lab teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive quality initiatives using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
  • Product Development Support: Provide quality input and support for new product development and technology transfers.
  • Audits & Readiness: Lead the company's response to and preparation for third-party, client, and regulatory audits.
  • Risk Management: Implement risk-based quality input and ensure the quality aspects of product stewardship and safety are prioritized.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track, analyze, and report on quality metrics and KPIs to identify gaps and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  • Cultural Leadership: Foster a strong, site-wide culture of quality and accountability across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge of personal care, cosmetic, and OTC manufacturing quality requirements.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant standards and guidelines such as FDA, cGMP, ICH, and ISO.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret quality data, analyze trends, and conduct risk assessments (e.g., using FMEA).
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead teams, motivate staff, and communicate effectively with stakeholders from production teams to executives.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experience in developing and deploying quality strategies and plans.
  • Process Knowledge: Experience in process standardization, SOP development, and implementing quality control procedures.
  • Problem-Solving: Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies and tools.
  • Change Management: Proven ability to drive change effectively in a fast-paced, fast-growing organization
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • People Development: Skilled in building high-performance teams by identifying strengths, providing feedback and supporting career development
