The Policy and Government affairs team is seeking to hire a dedicated and high-performing Administrative Assistant to support the advancement of the American Nurses Enterprise (ANE) advocacy agenda through administrative and communications support.

What You Will Do

  • Provide logistical and administrative support to the Policy and Government Affairs (PGOV) team

including processing contracts and invoices with government affairs consultants and vendors. Assist in evaluating and maintaining day-to-day relationships with vendors as well as coordinating with other PGOV staff.

  • Works closely with PGOV staff and other relevant internal stakeholders on advocacy planning,

tracking, internal; reporting and messaging including providing copy editing and communications support to PGOV colleagues.

  • Assist in outreach and educational efforts with ANA members through ANA programs such as the

American Nurses Advocacy Institute (ANAI), hill days, state lobby days and other advocacy and engagement efforts with Constituent and State Nurses Associations (C/SNA) leaders.

  • Remain current on significant issues and trends related to ANA’s advocacy agenda and on current

nursing issues and priorities.

  • Assist in administrative and other duties as assigned for PGOV.

What You Bring To The American Nurses Enterprise

Education

  • Associate’s degree required.

Related Work Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience spent engaging in administrative, copy editing or communications support

Skills

  • Proficient written and oral communication skills, including basic copy editing.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to learn and take on new projects and responsibilities related to administrative tasks, communications and advocacy.
  • Adept in prioritizing, managing, and completing multiple, complex projects.
  • Ability to relate easily to diverse individuals and groups and foster collaboration.
  • Discretion, tact, the ability to function as part of a team.

Additional Qualifications

  • Flexibility in work schedule required to accommodate occasional morning, evening or weekend events or meetings.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Previous administration of basic communication experience with a professional association.
  • Experience with social media engagement

Work Schedule
