Job Summary:
Manages center level staff and oversees daily operations of Early/Head Start facility according to the Head Start Program Performance Standards. Will participate in monthly/quarterly meetings with Regional Specialists and the Head Start Director to share center-level reports, concerns, and successes. Is responsible for supervision and management of the assigned Early/Head Start center; and teaching a classroom of 0-5-year-old children in center classrooms using an age-appropriate research-based curriculum.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees the entirety of center staff and follows up on job requirements
- Ability to work as a team member collaborating with staff, families, and the community.
- Ability to supervise and monitor children at all times to ensure a safe environment. This includes the physical ability to monitor and move quickly in order to respond to children who are very active and may need restraint or redirection in order to ensure their safety or the safety of others.
- Ability to respond appropriately to an emergency or a crisis.
- Ability to supervise early learners to ensure a safe environment.
- Ability to respond to events happening at all times in the classroom and outdoor play. This includes the physical ability to move quickly in order to respond to children who are very active and may need redirection or restraint in order to ensure their safety or the safety of others in the environment.
- Ability to interact with children at their eye level, (i.e., sitting, kneeling, stooping, bending.
- Center Directors must ensure that education, family services, health, social services, nutrition, and mental health seamless services are provided to income-eligible families.
- Ensures that all center-level program information reports are compiled, analyzed, and submitted to Regional Specialists and the Head Start Director within mandated timelines.
- Facilitates monthly meetings with center-level staff to discuss program updates, concerns, and successes.
- Job responsibilities may vary depending on the program model, site needs, and locations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an associate's degree (bachelor's degree preferred)
- Prefer two years of experience in managing an early childhood program.
- Must have the flexibility to schedule and accommodate the needs of families.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
- Knowledgeable in computer skills, word processing, and e-mail.
- Must have a valid license.
- Must be able to obtain CPR & First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
- Position is contingent upon the successful completion of a federal background check
