Sr. BI Platform Engineer

Summary

In this role, you will support Vizient’s suite of Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms, including Cognos, SAS, Power BI, MicroStrategy and Tableau. You will focus on the administration, performance and maintenance of the existing Cognos environments at Vizient.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform regular software upgrades for Cognos environment (1-2 per year).
• Provide ongoing monitoring and administrative support of Vizient’s Cognos environment.
• Develop and communicate best practices for shared use of Cognos environment.
• Drive team communication for technical project planning and present plans that support enterprise business intelligence initiatives as needed.
• Partner with BI Product Owners and development teams on project plans, including detailed estimates and tasks required for business intelligence activities.
• Resolve technical issues that arise and be available to provide expertise in a 24x7 support rotation.
• Work closely with the database team, network team & development teams to ensure all the BI applications are highly available and performing as expected.
  
  

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 5 or more years relevant experience in Cognos administration is required.
• Experience with change management processes and best practices, particularly with respect to BI tools, is required.
• 3 or more years of experience in a SAS administrator role is preferred.
• 3 or more years of experience in a Microsoft Power BI administrator role is preferred.
• Experience developing with Cognos, SAS, Power BI or other BI tools is preferred.
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) is preferred.
  
  

Estimated Hiring Range

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
