Bandana

About Bandana
Bandana operates as a people-first job board. The company was founded in Sep 2022 with the mission of making the everyday American’s life better by becoming the livelihood platform Americans trust. Bandana is the only job search platform that prioritizes job seeker filtering power. It provides a map-first experience with extensive and highly performant filtering capabilities.
Bandana exists to improve the livelihoods of hourly and entry-level workers through transparency and trust, starting with finding better jobs. The broader vision? Re-ignite the belief in the “American Dream” for workers. Specifically, the American promise that hard work can lead to success — and that this applies to all, not just the privileged few. Bandana has raised around $25M in total funding from top-tier VCs, led by General Catalyst, Craft Ventures, and more.
About the Growth Team
This seeker-first approach has brought us strong growth; Bandana currently handles on average 50k DAUs and 1M MAUs. Bandana is currently only live in 7 cities (NYC, LA, SF, DC, SD, CHI, and Seattle) and we’re just getting started We’ve averaged 30%+ MoM growth for the last 20 months consistently since launching *Bandana.com.* In the last 12 months, we've grown over 2,000%+
Most of this growth is organic. We’ve driven hundreds of millions of organic views by creating trusted salary and job content, all made in-house Growth and user acquisition today primarily occurs via social channels (Instagram, Tik Tok, Reddit, etc.). We have a robust media team that consistently drives viral content to major DMAs on a daily basis.
We seek people who:
- Lead with Head AND Heart: Smart isn’t enough. At Bandana, we want people who care deeply about the everyday Americans that we serve.
- Have Informed Opinions (Loosely Held): We have the conviction that building for workers first is the key to our success. Not everyone agrees. We are building an opinionated product For the People — we want to hear yours.
- Grow Through Action: We learn by doing. This takes time, energy, and in-person investment. Restoring the American Dream is not a 9-to-5 job.
- Want to Work On What Matters: At Bandana, we work on challenging problems that make a real difference for real people.
Duration of Role/Location
This is a full-time role on the growth team, starting in mid/late October or early November.
About the Role
At Bandana, growth is not a channel — it’s the engine that powers our mission. In this role, you’ll be on the front lines testing, iterating, and scaling the tactics that drive users, employers, and awareness into our ecosystem. Your work will span across user acquisition, marketing, operations, and product.
Examples include:
- User Acquisition Experiments - Design and run rapid-fire tests to drive thousands of net-new seekers in days, not weeks. Think channel hacking, grassroots campaigns, and content distribution at scale.
- Marketplace Expansion - Identify, source, and onboard new employers and job categories to deepen relationships in each market.
- Community Building - Represent Bandana in the field — running resume workshops, job fairs, and grassroots partnerships with local organizations, schools, and government programs.
- Growth Ops & Distribution - Architect repeatable playbooks for reaching millions of workers through social, email, and offline strategies.
- Employer Activation - Build and test scrappy sales motions (cold calls, door-to-door, co-created content) to get SMBs and enterprise groups sponsoring jobs on Bandana.
- User Insight Loops - Run structured interviews and field research with both job seekers and businesses; feed learnings back into product, content, and growth strategy.
- Content & Virality - Collaborate with the media team to spin insights into trusted, viral salary/job content that fuels Bandana’s organic engine.
Skills you have:

- Full-Stack Growth Chops - You can design a test, execute it fast, and analyze results without waiting for a team of specialists.
- Scrappy Problem Solving - If told “we need 5,000 new seekers in 48 hours,” you’d generate multiple viable paths and move decisively.
- Data Comfort - Strong with Google Sheets / Excel for sizing markets, modeling acquisition funnels, and analyzing unit economics.
- Experimentation Mindset - You treat every project as a hypothesis to test, learn, and scale.
- Execution Speed - You bias toward shipping over polishing, done today beats perfect next week.
- Independence with Collaboration - You can run with autonomy but know when to loop in teammates across product, ops, and media.
What we’re looking for:
- Grit & Hustle: Get-shit-done attitude, with willingness to roll up your sleeves.
- Creativity Within Ambiguity: When we tell you to “go test and figure it out”, you can test and learn, quickly!
- Speed & Independence: You have a track record of driving projects from 0-to-1 quickly and autonomously.
- Growth Mindset: You have an innate desire to always be learning, no matter the knowledge source.
