  • Provide consultation and HR expertise to assigned business areas, with a focus on employment practices and procedures, HR policies, compliance, talent management, performance management and communication with collective bargaining unit.
  • Provide consultation, guidance and input on business unit operations and workforce planning.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Manage union-related matters including handling employee grievances, monitoring and ensuring compliance with resolution timelines, preparing related documentation, and representing the company in arbitration proceedings.
  • Process and submit monthly invoices for employer-sponsored benefits, including supplemental benefits, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations Manager to oversee and administer workers’ compensation claims.
  • Manages employee benefits programs such as major medical and supplemental insurance, including prescription, dental, vision, life and short- and long-term disability, retirement plans, and education assistance plans
  • Handle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution
  • Review and process monthly benefit invoices from all vendors; ensure timely processing
  • Performs other duties as
