We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our Planning & Engineering group in Georgetown, KY. This is an onsite role, and we are looking for candidates based in the surrounding area.
About The Role
In this position, you will be responsible for developing project estimates for industrial and commercial construction, renovations, and improvements. You will work closely with project managers, construction teams, and executives to analyze costs, support estimating software development, and refine unit costs based on historical and current project data.
Work Location: Georgetown, KY (Onsite required)
Travel: Minimal (<1x/month)
Overtime: As needed to meet project deadlines
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop detailed project estimates for building construction, renovation, or improvements (from small modifications to full production plant construction).
Perform cost analyses for current or recently completed projects using conceptual designs or engineered drawings.
Support team members with cost estimation for similar projects.
Refine unit costs using historical project data and support estimating software development.
Collaborate with all levels of the organization, including executive managers, technical experts, and construction managers.
Analyze contractor bids to identify potential scope gaps.
What You Bring
5 years or less of experience in project estimating for industrial and/or commercial construction.
Technical knowledge of design/building construction engineering and schedule management.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Ability to create budgetary estimates from conceptual scopes of work.
Strong analytical skills to compare completed projects with conceptual projects in development.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook/Teams, Project).
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or other drawing/take-off software.
Bonus Skills (Nice To Have)
Experience with estimating software (ProEst, Acubid, PlanSwift, etc.)
Understanding of construction safety programs and requirements
Prior experience in industrial project cost analysis
Interview Process
One-round STAR/Video interview (60 minutes with the manager).
Additional rounds may be scheduled if needed.
