JOB SUMMARY: The Commercial Financial Planning Analyst conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses for individual projects and administration of the Commercial Development budget. This role will report to the Director, Financial Strategy and Economics and is based at the Company’s The Woodlands, TX office.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Prepare project financial forecasting using in-house models and templates.
  • Prepare various scenarios and sensitivity analysis for each project.
  • Work collaboratively with the operations, engineering, business development and finance teams to gather consistent and reasonable inputs for models and analyze the results.
  • Present summarized project modeling results to different levels of management.
  • Assist with regular updates and maintenance of the Commercial Development budget.
  • Assist with AFE development and expense approvals.
  • Assist with other ad hoc and special projects as assigned.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Possesses solid working knowledge of financial modeling, including project modeling.
  • Intermediate accounting proficiency. Must have strong working knowledge of Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow and their interdependence.
  • Intermediate to advanced modeling skills in Excel.
  • 1+ years of project modeling and relevant experience.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to relentlessly identify and seek needed information both internally and externally.
  • High motivation and initiative with an ability to work without close supervision.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to convey complex issues in a simple manner.

Preferred:

  • Passed CFA Level I.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas and/or Gas to Power industry.
