General Description

Responsible for performing advanced maintenance and structural repairs on both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including commercial and military platforms. You will support hangar maintenance, line maintenance, and AOG operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and airworthiness.

Duties

  • Inspect, repair, and replace aircraft structural components in accordance with drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Fabricate structural parts using sheet metal, metal forming, and composite/fiberglass materials.
  • Operate a wide variety of sheet metal working machines and hand tools for cutting, bending, riveting, forming, and assembly.
  • Perform corrosion control, including removal, treatment, and preventive applications.
  • Conduct structural maintenance on Part 91, Part 135, and Part 121 commercial aircraft.
  • Provide line maintenance and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support as required.
  • Travel up to 25% to support customer needs at off-site locations.
  • Work from both OEM and military technical manuals.
  • Support hangar operations and complete additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Airframe License required.
  • Minimum 10 years of aircraft structural maintenance experience.
  • Experience with commercial aircraft operations (Part 91, 135, and 121).
  • Strong background in corrosion control practices.
  • Must have experience with both OEM and military technical manuals.
  • Must be U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.

Environmental Factors

  • Work in an inside/outside environment to include working around machinery, objects, vehicles, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Excessive noise and vibration that can be intermittent or constant.
  • Environmental conditions can include but not limited to dust, silica, asbestos, fumes, smoke, gas, solvents such as degreasing agents, grease, oils, and electrical energy
  • Working on slippery or uneven surfaces
  • Working closely with others or working alone
  • Possible protracted or irregular hours of work as needed or required.
