System Administrator II
Summary of Position
System Administrator II will provide backend IT support and help maintain system reliability across business locations. This position is designed for an administrator with growing technical expertise who can work independently on routine tasks while collaborating with senior IT team members on more complex issues and projects. Occasional travel may be required, and the role may include participation in an on-call rotation during nights and weekends.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain existing IT systems and infrastructure with guidance from senior staff.
- Troubleshoot and support Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016 and newer).
- Troubleshoot and support Linux systems (Ubuntu-based).
- Provide support for VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter under direction.
- Troubleshoot and support Cloud hosting solutions (AWS/Azure).
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security in Active Directory/Azure.
- Perform routine system administration tasks such as backups, patching, and configuration updates.
- Install and configure hardware and software following established procedures.
- Monitor system logs, identify issues, and escalate as needed.
- Respond to end-user technical inquiries and provide Tier II support.
- Document system changes, updates, and processes.
- Collaborate with IT team members on projects, implementations, and support requests.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- 4-6 years of relevant IT systems administration or technical support experience.
- Proficiency with Windows Server environments required.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar) preferred.
- Familiarity with Active Directory administration.
- Familiarity with AWS/Azure.
- Familiarity with Linux systems, preferred but not required.
- Exposure to ITIL practices or formal IT policies/processes is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, Security+, MCSA, or VMware VCTA) preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to frequently sit with frequent forward bending and occasional rotation. The employee must rarely lift, carry and/or move up to 13 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is required to rarely push or pull up to 45 pounds horizontally. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required occasionally to walk; climb stairs; and stand with rare rotation. Rarely the employee is required to squat repetitively or reach up to 74”. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Environment:Works in office environment and rarely site environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
