The Leave of Absence (LOA) Analyst is responsible for managing and administering employee leaves in compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws, as well as company policies. This role serves as a subject matter expert in all types of employee leave, including FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, military leave, personal leave, and other statutory or company-specific programs. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to ensure seamless leave processing, employee support, and regulatory compliance.

This position requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to ensure seamless leave processing, employee support, and regulatory compliance.
A Day In The Life
- Partner with third-party leave administer to oversee employee leave of absence requests in accordance with applicable laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, CFRA, PDL), insurance policies, and company guidelines.
- Coordinate with third-party leave administrator and insurance carrier to manage claims for STD, LTD where applicable.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, process steps, documentation requirements, and return-to-work procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws, HIPAA, and internal policies.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and Legal teams to support complex leave scenarios and ensure consistent application of policies.
- Analyze leave trends and metrics to identify patterns, assess program effectiveness, and recommend process improvements.
- Educate employees and managers on leave policies, procedures, and updates through training and informational materials.
- Partner with Senior Manager, Benefits, HRIS team and third-party leave administrator on the implementation of leave policy changes, Workday updates and process improvement.
- 3+ years of experience administering leave of absence programs with a multi-state employer.
- In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, CFRA, PDL, and other federal and state leave laws.
- Direct experience managing third-party leave administrators and insurance carriers (STD, LTD).
- Proven track record ensuring compliance with HIPAA, federal, state, and local leave regulations.
- Hands-on experience processing complex leave cases, including concurrent leaves and ADA accommodations.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday strongly preferred), including leave case tracking and reporting.
- Experience reconciling leave with payroll and benefits administration.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze leave data and metrics to identify trends and ensure compliance.
- The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $76,000.00 - $126,000.00 annually.
