Position Overview

Our Client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Drafter to join their team. In this role, you will prepare site plans and building shell plans to support a wide range of development and construction projects. You should have experience drafting architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plans along with a strong understanding of design standards, codes, and construction documentation.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and delivered on time. This role is key to supporting projects from early planning through permitting and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate site plans and building shell plans based on project needs
  • Draft architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings that meet codes and standards
  • Interpret sketches, markups, and field notes to create clear and precise drawings
  • Work with engineers, designers, and project managers to handle revisions and feedback
  • Keep drawing files and documentation well-organized
  • Prepare drawings for permit submittals and ensure accuracy before approval
  • Review plans for completeness and coordinate with other disciplines to avoid conflicts
  • Stay up to date with drafting techniques, software, and building codes

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of drafting experience, with a focus on architectural and MEP drawings
  • Experience creating site plans and building shell plans for commercial or residential projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit or similar BIM tools preferred
  • Strong understanding of architectural and MEP systems
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning rules, and industry standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills to work with team members and external partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with permit submittals and local municipal requirements
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as SketchUp or BIM tools

Skills & Expertise
