About the Role

The food service staff is responsible for serving the students and faculty by taking payment in a courteous, accurate, and efficient manner and to serve attractive meals at the proper temperature in a quick, courteous, and sanitary manner.



Responsibilities

  • Take payment for all purchases in the serving line.
  • Enter sales correctly and accurately.
  • Assist faculty in their selections.
  • Remain accurate to within $3.00 of computer sales reports.
  • Distinguish ala carte selections from school lunch selections and enter appropriately into the terminal.
  • Responsible for maintaining the snack bar inventory of product.
  • Report any concerns regarding the snack bar to the Manager.
  • Report all equipment problems to the Manager.
  • Organize all money in the register from the day’s sales to be counted with the Manager.
  • Set up serving line with the supplies needed for the day.
  • Assist in the food preparation for all areas of operation.
  • Clean work area thoroughly at the end of the day.
  • Report all equipment problems or failures to the Manager.
  • Carry out all kitchen/dish room duties as assigned by the Food Service Director using proper procedures and following directions accurately.
  • Serves meals and ala carte items to the students quickly and efficiently.
  • Assists students in selecting their meals in accordance with the school lunch or breakfast pattern.
  • Refills steam table when food is depleted.
  • Ensures that the food on the serving line is the proper temperature and that the appearance and quality of the food meets established standards.
  • Serves correct portions of food in the appropriate serving ware.
  • Removes all food, utensils, and serving ware from the work area at the end of the last lunch period.
  • Cleans assigned area thoroughly and prepare for the next day’s service.
  • Carries out all kitchen/dishroom duties as assigned by the Manager using proper procedures and cleaning materials.
  • Assists in preparing food for students, faculty and the satellite program as needed.
  • Reports all equipment problems or failures to the Manager.
  • Reports all safety hazards to the Manager.
  • Such other tasks as assigned by the Manager or Food Service Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and write.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Knowledge of proper cashiering procedures.
  • Ability to operate all faculty cafeteria equipment or willingness to learn.
  • Food Service Sanitation Certificate or willingness to acquire one.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.



Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
