Description

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Operations (DOP) to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the DOP will be responsible for optimizing daily operations across the organization, with a focus on contract execution, customer engagement, and field employee support. This is a fully remote position, based on the East Coast.

This is a fully remote position based on the East Coast, with up to 20% travel required to support program sites and customer engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CFO and COO to draft subcontracts and consulting agreements, ensuring all required flow-down clauses are accurately included.
  • Ensure program managers and the COO are fully informed of contractual obligations.
  • Serve as Project Manager for key contracts requiring temporary or part-time oversight.
  • Analyze solicitations to identify contract risk and support the bid/no-bid decision-making process.
  • Review and validate cost proposals to ensure alignment with contract requirements and company revenue/profit targets.
  • Support proposal development by conducting cost analysis, building pricing schedules, and contributing to preparation efforts.
  • Identify and support new business opportunities that align with company growth and financial goals.
  • Monitor changes in federal regulations to ensure company compliance and operational readiness.
  • Track Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) submissions to ensure 100% accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed on contracts to support future proposals and audits.
  • Develop and oversee operational workflows that align with strategic goals and provide transparency into progress and performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to support operational decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Cultivate and grow customer relationships; proactively identify opportunities to expand service offerings.
  • Monitor daily operations, analyze key performance metrics, and ensure efficient execution of deliverables.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to increase program efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize impact.
  • Support customer satisfaction by gathering feedback, interpreting data, and enhancing service delivery processes.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training of direct-charge employees.
  • Enforce organizational policies and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Partner with HR to foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive team culture built on trust and integrity.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

  • Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance and maintain eligibility throughout employment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution; OR 10+ years of relevant experience and/or training; OR A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
  • Background in Information Technology and Federal Government contracting environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operations, projects, and programs in a federal contracting context.
  • Proven knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and related compliance standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work across all levels of the organization.
  • At least 3 years of experience working directly in or with the federal government. (Note: 6 years of federal business development and contract execution experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree, totaling 9 years of experience.)
