General Description:

Valent USA is looking for a Sr. Buyer/ Planner to join our team in San Ramon, CA. The purpose of this position is to procure inventory and plan in a production environment. Develops and implements long-term supply chain strategies and networks in support of business growth.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • For assigned product group, provide analytical, data gathering, and technical supply chain support for one or more processes such as production planning, life cycle management, finished goods and raw material inventory management and allocation, as necessary.
  • Procurement of raw materials and packaging, required to build finished goods on time.
  • Coordinate manufacturing and material requirements for all company manufacturing facilities in USA, which now total 15 locations.
  • Develop aggregate supply plans for assigned product groups while collaborating with the Marketing, Sales, Contract Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams.
  • Develop and maintain the schedule in SAP and John Galt Atlas Systems that support the aggregated demand plan while effectively utilizing company resources such as finished goods inventory, internal and external manufacturing capacities, and costs.
  • Maintains forecasts and manages work orders for Contract Manufacturing manufacture, fill and finish in SAP and Inventory Management Module of Atlas Planning System.
  • Develop, track, and maintain relevant, effective performance metrics related to supply chain effectiveness; Initiate appropriate action plans for metrics below expectations
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Understand and resolve planned work order variances and work with the Contract Manufacturing facilities to resolve issues.
  • Attend annual physical inventories of manufacturing facilities as assigned.
  • Lead assigned product group in Supply Reviews and Production Planning Meetings.
  • Become an integral contributor to the Sales and Operations Planning Process

Qualifications:

  • Typically, a BA/BS, MBA or equivalent, with 15+ years of related experience
  • Minimum 5 years in supply chain management, including one or more of the following: Forecasting and Demand Planning, Master Scheduling, Capacity Analysis and Management, Inventory Analysis and Management, Sales & Operations Planning, Materials Requirements Planning.
  • Experience in production manufacturing and/or Agricultural Chemical manufacturing preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of other MS Office applications and Demand Planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and have strong data analysis, problem solving, and decision-making ability
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all organizational levels and work effectively in a team environment, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated examples of a high level of personal initiative and ability to function autonomously with a strong sense of urgency, self-confidence, and comfort with new and rapidly changing situations and environments
  • Experience with ERP systems required.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with employees and 3 rd party vendors

Base Salary: The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from:

$88,700 to $108,600 . Individual pay is based upon location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Incentives: All full-time employees are eligible for an incentive program or profit-sharing program in addition to their base salary.
