We are currently seeking an Architect to join our team in Temple, TX, and work on exciting projects with both municipal clients and private sector developers.
Position Overview
The Architect will support the architectural team in the design and execution of a wide range of projects, including work for municipal clients and private-sector developers. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in architectural design, project documentation, and coordination while contributing to the success of both public and private sector initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, strong communication skills, and an eagerness to grow within a collaborative and creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Project Support:
Assist in the development of architectural design concepts, drawings, and presentation materials.
Work under the supervision of senior architects to prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, and construction documents using Revit, or other design software.
Contribute to project design meetings, helping to refine design ideas and ensure alignment with client goals and requirements.
Client & Consultant Coordination
Collaborate with internal project teams, external consultants, and clients to ensure effective communication and seamless project execution.
Assist in preparing design presentations and reports for municipal clients, private developers, and other stakeholders.
Respond to client inquiries and assist in managing relationships to ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead project specific project management exercises while working directly with senior architectural leadership
Project Documentation & Compliance
Help prepare and organize project documentation, including architectural drawings, technical specifications, and permitting documents.
Assist with coordinating zoning, permitting, and code compliance, ensuring projects meet all local regulations and requirements.
Support senior architects in conducting site analysis and coordinating design work with engineers and other disciplines.
Sustainability & Design Innovation
Support sustainable design efforts, including incorporating energy-efficient solutions and materials into designs.
Stay informed on architectural trends, best practices, and industry standards to contribute fresh ideas and innovative solutions to design challenges.
Professional Development
Take part in mentoring and development opportunities to expand knowledge of architecture, municipal regulations, and private sector development processes.
Participate in continuing education, professional certifications, and industry events to enhance professional growth and stay updated with emerging trends.
Position Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
2-5 years of post-licensure professional experience in architecture, with a focus on working with municipal clients and private sector developers preferred.
5-8 years of total proven professional experience in architecture, with a focus on working with municipal clients and private sector developers preferred.
Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and other design and drafting software.
Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building codes, and municipal regulations. Strong portfolio to prove artistic skills
Familiarity with construction documentation, specifications, and project coordination.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Passion for design and eagerness to grow in the architecture field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on municipal, residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
LEED Green Associate or other sustainability certifications a plus.
Knowledge of site analysis and environmental considerations in architectural design.
