Are you ready to take your career to new heights? Lake Havasu City is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and forward-thinking professional to serve as its Municipal Airport Manager. This position oversees the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and development of the City’s Municipal Airport, ensuring compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) regulations.

The Airport Manager will provide leadership in long-term planning, budget administration, tenant relations, capital project management, and marketing to promote the airport as a vital community asset.

Responsibilities

As an Airport Manager, you will be the driving force behind the successful operations of our airport. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating airport operations, construction, and maintenance.
  • Supervising employees and coordinating personnel-related activities such as setting performance goals, coaching, and writing evaluations.
  • Developing and implementing airport policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with government officials and airport stakeholders on plans and regulations.
  • Working with the FAA and ADOT Aeronautics Group on grant applications for Airport Improvement Program (AIP) projects.
  • Partnering with architectural and engineering consultants on airport modernization and restoration projects.
  • Conduct inspections and review reports to determine development and maintenance needs.
  • Ensuring safety and security regulations are maximized and proper training is provided for emergency procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with airport operating regulations, policies, and agreements.
  • Preparing and administering the divisional budget to ensure efficient use of City funds.
  • Operating and maintaining motor vehicles or work-related equipment requiring a valid driver license.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business, public administration, or a related field.
  • Considerable experience in airport management, budget preparation, long-range planning, airport maintenance and administration, airport development, public relations, and capital project administration.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid Driver License of appropriate class.
  • American Association of Airport Executives Certified Member (C.M.) – preferred.
