As a County Clerk Records Clerk in the Elections Division, you’ll assist with vital office responsibilities that keep election operations and official records running smoothly. From helping the public with election-related questions to processing legal documents and campaign finance reports, this role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to contribute to the integrity of the democratic process.
What You’ll Do
- Assist elected officials, staff, and the public by phone and in person with questions and information about elections.
- Process legal documents including petitions, affidavits, campaign finance reports, board resolutions, and interlocal agreements.
- Support election activities by assisting with canvassing, certifying results, and Early Voting needs.
- Administer oaths of office, process passport applications, and maintain official County records such as minutes and resolutions.
- Play a meaningful role in supporting the election process and helping to ensure public trust in government.
- Gain valuable clerical experience working with official records, legal documents, and public services.
- Work in a professional, service-oriented environment where accuracy and attention to detail are valued.
- Contribute to a team that directly supports democracy and the smooth operation of County services.
Required Minimum Qualifications
At the time of application, applicants must:
- Must be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) Test.
- Have had one (1) year of full time clerical experience as an employee in a county or municipal clerk’s office, Equalization or Assessing Office, or Circuit Court.
