Safety Coordinator
Meyer

As the Safety Coordinator, you’ll support Meyer’s safety and compliance programs across all facilities. You’ll assist in managing safety policies, regulatory compliance, and employee training, helping to foster a safe and informed workplace. You’ll report to the Safety and Fleet Compliance Manager.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct facility inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure OSHA and company compliance.
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Track safety metrics and prepare reports for leadership.
- Participate in the safety committee to promote employee engagement.
- Support DOT/FMCSA compliance and maintain driver and vehicle records.
- Deliver safety training for new hires and current employees.
- Communicate safety updates and serve as a resource for employee questions.
- Stay current with OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations and manage reporting.
- Help develop emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
- Occasional travel to Meyer facilities; some overnight travel may be required.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, transportation, or related field OR 1–3 years of experience in a safety/compliance role.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, ASP, or CSP are a plus.
