The Pastry Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing the daily production and preparation of baked goods and packaged pastries for Emma’s. This role ensures that all items meet brand standards for quality, consistency, and presentation, while supporting the Executive Pastry Chef in managing kitchen operations and team performance. responsible for overseeing the execution of all plated desserts and the production of pastry items for banquet and event service.

This role ensures consistency, quality, and efficiency across both service styles, supporting the Executive Pastry Chef in managing kitchen operations and leading a team of pastry professionals.

Ideal candidates will have strong experience in both fine dining and high-volume pastry production, with a passion for precision, presentation, and team development

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production of baked goods for boutique retail, including macarons, cookies, tarts, and packaged pastries.
  • Ensure consistency in product quality, portioning, and presentation.
  • Lead and support a team of bakers and pastry assistants during shifts.
  • Maintain prep schedules and production logs to meet daily and seasonal demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to leadership.
  • Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards in all prep areas.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new kitchen staff.
  • Support execution of seasonal displays and special retail offerings
  • Ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation of all plated items.
  • Coordinate with FOH and culinary teams to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Lead the production of pastry items for banquets, catering, and special events.
  • Manage prep schedules and production timelines to meet event deadlines.
  • Ensure all items meet brand standards and client expectations.
  • Supervise pastry cooks and assistants across both restaurant and banquet operations.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef.
  • Monitor ingredient levels and assist with ordering and receiving.
  • Maintain organized prep areas and ensure proper storage and labeling.
  • Conduct regular checks on product quality and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and ServSafe standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef on seasonal menus and event-specific offerings.
  • Assist in testing and refining new recipes and presentation styles.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills And Abilities

  • 3+ years of professional pastry or baking experience, preferably in a boutique or retail-focused kitchen.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with production planning and inventory control.
  • ServSafe Certification required.
  • Culinary or baking education is preferred.
