Job Summary
The Compliance Coordinator at OnePeak Medical plays a crucial role in upholding and enhancing our commitment to regulatory compliance. This position will work closely with the Compliance Officer and cross-functional teams to ensure practices align with Onepeak Medical policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and industry standards. The Compliance Coordinator reports to the Compliance Officer and assists in maintaining a strong culture of compliance within the organization.

Job Summary
The Compliance Coordinator at OnePeak Medical plays a crucial role in upholding and enhancing our commitment to regulatory compliance. This position will work closely with the Compliance Officer and cross-functional teams to ensure practices align with Onepeak Medical policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and industry standards. The Compliance Coordinator reports to the Compliance Officer and assists in maintaining a strong culture of compliance within the organization.
Responsibilities And Duties
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Assist in the development, review, and update of compliance policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure effective policy implementation.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting compliance training sessions for employees to ensure awareness and understanding of relevant regulations.
- Keep abreast of changes in regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in quarterly clinic audits to assess compliance with company policies and external regulations.
- Identify areas of potential risk and work with managers and teams to implement corrective action plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, including audit findings and resolutions.
- Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to the Compliance Officer.
- Assist in licensure tracking.
- Assist in root cause analyses to investigate reported compliance concerns and incidents such as adverse events and potential breaches of patient privacy.
- Facilitate proper protocol for patient behavioral warnings and dismissal requests.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences of incidents.
- Serve as an additional point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from employees and external parties.
- Foster a culture of compliance awareness and ethical behavior.
- Process records requests in accordance with the standards set by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Ensure appropriate management of patient records received to OnePeak Medical from other organizations.
- Assist in tasks and projects related to compliance as needed.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Officer to address emerging compliance issues.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, medical science, legal studies or a related field (preferred).
- One year of experience in Primary Care and/or Urgent Care Company/Practice (preferred).
- One year of hands-on experience with computer systems such as Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (preferred).
- Knowledge of pertinent healthcare laws such as HIPAA, OSHA and anti-fraud laws (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
