Summary
This position is responsible for the design, configuration, and maintenance of all security solutions related to Sierra Central Credit Union’s information technologies. Ensures availability, integrity, and confidentiality of electronic data resources. Provides a single point of contact for security concerns.
Essential Functions
- Administer and implement Sierra Central Credit Union’s information security program, including but not limited to developing specifications for security equipment software, and procedures necessary for data security.
- Ensures proper operation of software that provides data protection (i.e. Configuration Management, Audit Logging, SIEM, EDR, Antivirus, Patch Management).
- Work/communicate with Sierra Central security providers to ensure the internal and external security of the credit union.
- Supervises intrusion detection and prevention systems.
- Identifies weaknesses and vulnerabilities in the network using security logs and other tools.
- Audits security logs daily from all network security hosts and devices, and resolves information security performance problems, security weaknesses, and security intrusions.
- Serve as the main point of contact for security concerns.
- Monitors the network for proper security procedures, software, and indicators of compromise.
- Evaluates future security requirements and develops and recommends technical and operational solutions accordingly.
- Ensures that at all times Sierra Central Credit Union’s information security program, procedures, and implementation is maintained at the highest level of confidentiality.
- Working with Sierra Central Talent Development Department, develop and implement information security training to all employees.
- Provide communication of ongoing “phishing” scams, computer fraud issues etc. to management, and if directed by supervisor, to all employees.
- Ensures Sierra Central Credit Union meets compliance and regulatory requirements for all information security.
- Work on assigned projects related to information security.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to respond to problems and challenges in non-scheduled hours of operation, including the need to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate at all times cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- Analytical skills with proven experience solving computer related issues.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
- 3-5 years of information assurance or related field experience.
- Proficiency with various software packages, personal computers and peripherals, and voice and data communication networks.
