What You Will Be Doing
- Orchestrating the daily 2-Hour Learning block where you'll mentor students in goal-setting, focused work habits, and effective use of our technology tools.
- Reinforcing reading fundamentals by complementing and extending the work of our specialized Reading team.
- Cultivating emotional intelligence, resilience, and collaborative skills through consistent, warm guidance.
- Monitoring individual progress with precision, identifying challenges early, and collaborating with your team to implement targeted support strategies.
- Designing a learning environment that balances structure with joy—creating a space that feels like the perfect blend of academic rigor and summer camp excitement.
- Standing at the front of the room delivering lengthy lectures to passive listeners.
- Taking full responsibility for literacy curriculum development or implementation.
- Drowning in paperwork, endless grading, or extensive lesson planning.
- Working in an environment that lacks technological innovation or authentic joy.
- Implementing one-size-fits-all behavior management without addressing individual needs and motivations.

Basic Requirements
- Availability for full-time, in-person work at either our Orange County or San Francisco, California campus.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with children ages 4-8 in educational settings, afterschool programs, coaching environments, or similar contexts.
- Proven track record of engaging and guiding young children with a perfect balance of structured expectations and joyful interaction.
- Demonstrated commitment to personal growth and receptiveness to feedback.
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- Credentials or specialized training in early childhood educational approaches (such as Child Development Associate, Montessori certification, or Reggio Emilia experience).
- Background in supporting literacy development or collaboration with reading specialists.
- Experience with educational technology platforms, particularly adaptive learning systems or personalized learning tools.

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
